Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has pledged that President Bola Tinubu’s administration will ensure all districts in Abuja are equipped with basic infrastructure.
Speaking on Wednesday in Abuja during the inauguration of a 3.2-kilometer dual carriageway from Ahmadu Bello Way to Mabushi District, Wike emphasized the importance of connecting all areas with quality road networks.
The project includes the construction of additional road networks within the district. Wike noted that President Tinubu has mandated that infrastructure improvements must be prioritized before new districts are established.
“I want to be clear: we will not rest until every district is connected by good roads. This is crucial because a well-connected city fosters serenity,” he stated.
“For a city like Abuja, we must continue to invest in essential infrastructure, including a robust road network, to enhance its status as a modern city,” he added.
Wike highlighted that the new road network would stimulate economic activities in the district and alleviate the challenges faced by residents navigating the city.
The project, which received approval from the Federal Executive Council, is backed by adequate budgetary provisions to ensure its completion by May 2025. Wike assured the contractor that all resources would be allocated efficiently.
He further emphasized that no project awarded under the Tinubu-led government would extend beyond this administration, underscoring the commitment to timely completion.
