The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s commitment to developing satellite towns and rural areas. Speaking during the inauguration of the Asuquo Okon Road (CN8) construction project on Thursday, Wike emphasized that these efforts are essential to the region’s growth.
The newly launched project, which links Obafemi Awolowo Way to Olusegun Obasanjo Way, includes the development of adjacent roads within the Daki Biyu District. As the 4th road project in Abuja’s city center this week, it’s slated for completion by May 2025.
Wike highlighted that the FCTA’s focus extends beyond the city center, with roads currently being constructed across the six area councils. Additionally, four more road projects in satellite towns are scheduled to commence on October 28.
Wike underscored the importance of road infrastructure in transforming the rural economy, noting that these initiatives align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes the development of FCT’s rural communities.
