The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has successfully apprehended a gang of suspects involved in stealing manhole covers across Abuja.
Acting on credible intelligence, the Command’s intelligence unit conducted a targeted operation, leading to the arrest of the culprits red-handed.
Several stolen manhole covers, primarily made of high-value metals, were recovered alongside tools used in criminal activities.
These thefts posed significant risks to residents, leaving open manholes on roads and walkways, and creating potential hazards for motorists and pedestrians.
In a statement, the FCT Police PRO commended the officers’ swift action, emphasizing the Command’s commitment to protecting public infrastructure.
